Since 1976, the Grafton Chamber has honored a special Grafton citizen who gives unselfishly of his or her time and talents to improve and enhance our community.  The award goes to someone that demonstrates leadership, stewardship, humility and community involvement. This year, the award was given to PWSB's Mary Albrecht, VP of Deposit Operations.

Mary’s commitment to service above self is demonstrated by her involvement on the Jail Literacy board since 2019 and her support for Interfaith Caregivers of Ozaukee, merely two examples of where Mary has given of her time. Moreover, she’s assisted at Strawberry Fest, Food Truck Nights, Ladies Nights as well as Independence Day and Christmas celebrations. Other outstanding organizations and events that Mary has volunteered at over the years include Habitat for Humanity, United Way, Portal, and Kapco Toy Drives.

Mary has been with PWSB for 20 years. During her tenure, she’s helped with in-bank giving as well. She supported financial literacy programs at senior centers, Grafton High School and other schools throughout Ozaukee County. Mary is also one of the first to donate food, toys or personal care items when the bank hosts a collection. In addition, she started the PWSB snack shack, a snack station at the headquarters where employees can grab snacks and leave a donation in return.

Cindy Nierode, CFO shared her excitement for Mary's honor. "We couldn’t be more proud of her accomplishments and her generosity to the Grafton Community, but most of all, we are proud to say she is a part of the PWSB family."

The award was presented at the Community Tree Lighting Ceremony, held on November 19th. As part of this honor, Mary served as the grand marshal of the Christmas Parade on November 25.

Congratulations to Mary Albrecht for this well-deserved recognition!
